Countdown to NLC: Growing Forest Conservation, Together
We are incredibly excited for the opportunities ahead of us in 2019 as we engage more family forest owners in active stewardship through the American Tree Farm System (ATFS). Growing ATFS and removing barriers that prevent landowners from taking action on their land are key to the future sustainability of the program. We are committed to investing in new innovations and resources to help streamline landowner enrollment, maximize forester time, and create a stronger value proposition for landowners and foresters.
One
of the most important events on the ATFS calendar every year is the National
Leadership Conference (NLC), which will take place in Louisville, KY February
26-28. The 2019 NLC is all about “Growing Forest Conservation, Together” and
the agenda will feature many opportunities for ATFS leaders and volunteers to
contribute to the conversation on engaging more landowners.
We will be back in touch each week leading up to the NLC to further highlight ways we’re working with you to remove barriers to landowner engagement. For those joining us in Louisville, we hope these updates give you a better understanding of our recommendations so you’ll be ready to contribute to the conversation. For those who aren’t able to attend, we encourage you to share your questions, concerns, and excitement with your state’s NLC representatives, or email ATFS staff, so that your voices can be heard, too. We will be archiving this weekly series of emails, along with other resources, on our website.
